BCTV's Annual Members Meeting
Wednesday, September 22
5:30-7:30PM at Latchis 4
BCTV will hold its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, September 22 at 5:30 PM at Latchis 4. The event will include video highlights from the year, volunteer awards, and the election of board members. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be provided. Latchis 4 is located in the Latchis Theatre, at 50 Main Street in downtown Brattleboro.

The BCTV Board of Directors meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM (unless otherwise noted).
The meetings are held in the Hanna
Cosman Room, Municipal Center, 2nd floor,
230 Main Street, Brattleboro, Vermont.
The meetings are open to the public.
Fall 2010 Training Schedule: BCTV offers training and video production equipment to volunteers who want to make programming for broadcast on cable channels 8 and 10. Call 257-0888 or email vlastabctv@gmail.com to register. Note: Your space will be reserved when payment is made; fees may be waived if needed.
Basic One-Camera Production
Thursday, October 14, 5:15 – 8:30 PM
Cost: $20
Hands-on instruction on BCTV’s handheld camcorders for general field production and story-telling. Includes instruction on tripod use, basic audio and lighting.
(8 students maximum)
Pre-requisite: none
Introduction to Digital Editing with Final Cut Pro
Tuesday & Thursday, October 26 & 28, 5:30-7:30 PM
Cost: $20
An introduction to basic but essential editing skills, such as capturing footage, cutting, and adding transitions, special effects, titles and audio tracks.
Pre-requisite: Familiarity with Mac OS & computer interface.
Practicum: 2 or more hours editing a video project

DVD Authoring Workshop
Thursday, November 04, 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Cost: $10
You’re done with the editing, now what? Learn how to put your final project on a DVD so you can submit it to BCTV.

Advanced Camera Techniques
Tuesday, November 9, 5:15 – 8:30 PM
Cost: $20
You have the basic technical and conceptual understanding to make recordings, but want to know more about the camera features and techniques used to make productions look more professional. Hands-on instruction using BCTV camera, tripods, lighting, audio and more.
Pre-requisite: Previous Camera or Production classes, and/or experience as an active producer.

Uploading Video Workshop
Thursday, December 2, 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Finished your production and ready to put it up on one of the video hosting sites? Learn how at this workshop.

Orientation to BCTV

An introduction to BCTV’s mission, services, equipment and facilities. Come take a tour, ask questions and see for yourself how it all works.
Producer’s Night
