Summer Video Camp
A
Weeklong Exploration Creating Original Video Productions
July
28-August 1, 2008 10AM-3PM
Limited
to 12 participants ages 9-14 (grades 4-8)
Cost
is $125 for the week (with
some scholarships available for qualifying students)
Camp
participants will make original videos and premiere them on BCTV
channel 8 and at an exclusive premiere party in BCTV’s studio on
Friday, August 31.
Participants will learn about and use different video and audio
techniques including animation, green/blue screen, & live action
sequences to create videos by regional artists.
Monday: orientation & overview, storyboarding, agreeing on
themes & getting started with shooting
Tuesday:
video shooting continues, planning for post production
Wednesday:
final shooting and post production begins
Thursday:
post production continues, Open Studio program to talk about the
camp and the projects
Friday:
finishing projects, preparing for the premiere. Video premier will
be at 2:50 PM
Frederic
Noyes is BCTV’s Access
Coordinator and teaches video skills to all age groups. He has
taught at
Bellows
Falls
Union
High School
, Neighborhood Schoolhouse,
Brattleboro
Area
Middle School
and led the Know Media
Youth Project at BUHS. Frederic has produced thousands of hours of
radio and television broadcasts and got his start in community
television in 1989 as a teen director for a live weekly teen issues
program.
Christopher
Grotke guides the creative direction for the web design company MuseArts. He
has worked since 1986 as an artist, designer, and educator. Grotke
is co-founder of iBrattleboro.com, the pioneering citizen journalism
site of
Brattleboro
,
Vermont
and was director of the Media Arts at Capital Children's Museum in
Washington
,
D.C.
where he started the Animation Lab,
the world's first public-access animation studio, and had Master
Classes
Roland
Boyden: editor, writer,
performer, music maker -Roland is a quadruple threat! He
has already completed his first feature film and has much
experience with Final Cut editing. Roland brings a wealth of skills
and ideas to help make projects look fantastic. Keep Roland well fed
and he’ll reveal all of his video secrets!
